Please don't let the title of this post fool you, I have still a lot to learn, however its been a little over 2 years since my sweet husband surprised me with cake-decorating paraphenalia and enrollment into a 4 week cake- decorating course at the local Michael's craft store. It seemed like a good idea, a little fun hobby to distract me from the drastic change in scenery and the cold, and the newborn and 2 1/2 year old I was now out-numbered by. So I went to that first class not knowing what to expect and not realizing how much fun I was going to have!
This was the cake that I took to that first class. I was proud of myself for being able to bake it, fill it and frost it ( basically) smooth.... Holy moly that was a lot of work!
Well that's how I became "obsessed with icing" its a fun hobby, that I have worked to become better at. Its not that I have some innate ability, I have classes under my belt as well as tips and tricks and the correct tools. But most importantly a loving hubby and kids who support me. I couldn't do anything without my Sous Chef, thanks honey!
